Builder Floors for Sale in Defence Colony

An established, leafy South Delhi colony built around Defence Colony Main Market, originally developed for defence personnel post-Independence. Today it is one of South Delhi's premium residential addresses, made up of builder floors, independent houses and kothis across five blocks (A–E).

There is no metro station inside Defence Colony itself. Lajpat Nagar Metro Station (Pink and Violet Lines) is the main access; South Extension on the Pink Line is a useful alternative depending on which side of the colony you are on.

Mainly families, senior professionals (executives, lawyers, doctors, consultants) and corporate/expatriate leases for furnished or well-renovated floors. It is not primarily a student rental market.

Builder floors (commonly 3–4 BHK) now make up a large share of the residential stock, alongside independent houses and kothis — some since redeveloped into multi-floor buildings — plus a smaller amount of apartment/society-style housing.

Plot sizes vary rather than following one standard — current listings span roughly 200 sq yd up to 400+ sq yd and beyond, so it is worth checking the specific plot size on any listing.

A Block has the strongest access to the main market, which brings convenience but also more traffic and parking pressure nearby. B, C, D and E blocks tend to feel more purely residential. Within any block, the specific street, plot size and building age usually matter more than the block letter alone.
